THE BERKELEY INSTITUTE Invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Administrative Assistant to Deputy Principal.

SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Office Manager, the postholder will provide a range of data management, administrative and secretarial support services within The Berkeley Institute. The postholder will provide support to the Deputy Principal responsible for scheduling of teachers and staff, daily attendance and substitute coverage for teachers. The post holder will also undertake other associated duties.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a busy office environment
  • Ability to attend to multiple tasks efficiently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide courteous service to school clients, faculty, staff and students
  • Understanding of and respect for confidentiality in all matters
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work as part of a team, or independently
  • High level of technical expertise

 SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • It is expected that the candidate will possess a solid educational background and a high degree of competence in administrative skills.
  • The postholder must be competent working with a variety of computer programme applications and a working knowledge of Microsoft Professional, which includes Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher. Familiarity with the PowerSchool Data Management System will be an advantage.
  • The postholder must also have successfully completed the B.S.S.C. or equivalent and an Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience. The post requires a minimum of five years’ experience undertaking administrative and secretarial duties in a multifunctional office environment.
