Over the past few months, The Berkeley Institute's Signature Transformation Team has embarked on an inspiring journey, engaging all stakeholders to refine our case for change, vision for learning, and blueprint statements. By resocializing our community for Education Reform, we have built a stronger stakeholder buy-in and fostered a shared language. The team has delved deeply into data, conducted empathy interviews, and held in-person focus groups, integrating key insights with the Bermuda Public School System's initiatives such as the new assessment policy, the LEGIT instructional model, and professional learning.
Stakeholders are thrilled to be part of this journey, voicing the need for enhanced student engagement, technology use, and employability readiness. They emphasize the importance of relevant, authentic learning that meets diverse needs and cultivates critical thinking, adaptability, and resilience.
Staff have highlighted professional learning as crucial for modernizing instructional practices. Recently, our team has engaged in the ideation process, prioritizing which concepts and features The Berkeley Institute wants to prototype to make tangible progress towards implementing meaningful changes for our students.
As the school-based lead, I am excited about the innovative ideas and collaborative spirit driving our progress, and I look forward to witnessing the transformative impact these efforts will have on our students' futures.
