Welcome to the Business & IT Department !!
Thank you for visiting our department. In keeping with the school's curriculum, the Business & Information Technology department, sets high expectations for students in preparation for further education, work and a productive life. Although we would like that life to be in Business, we recognise that students will make different career choices. Bermuda is the re-insurance capital of the world and is still one of the most popular homes for international business. Bermuda is also one of the most 'wired' countries in the world. That is one of the reasons why companies choose Bermuda. We pledge to lay the foundation for our students to benefit from all the positive elements of 'Business' in Bermuda.

The English Department aims to develop the reading, writing, thinking, and speaking skills necessary for success both in collegiate work and in life, while at the same time fostering a genuine, life-long love of knowledge and an appreciation for the great drama, poetry, and prose of authors from around the world. By the end of their time at Berkeley Institute, students should be able to evaluate text critically and perform the type of research required in collegiate courses in the humanities. Along with literature and writing, students study vocabulary each year, and develop the grammatical skills necessary for effective written and spoken communication.

This department actively promotes scientific literacy, and the understanding of the unifying scientific principles that govern the physical and biological disciplines. Scientific literacy is demonstrated through effective problem solving, along with informed, responsible and ethical decision making. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of the natural world utilizing the scientific method. To this end, the curriculum fosters students’ curiosity as they learn to phrase scientific questions, construct testable hypotheses, and efficiently gather data. Students analyze data quantitatively, effectively communicate their findings, and justify their conclusions.
